ipchains can do the trick.
you can have one gateway, and then a bunch of machines on the internal lan,
but you can still pull contents of your website off internal network. just
tell ipchains to forward back and forth port 80 tcp, and so forth. this has
been done.
but hey, writing your own is always way more fun than getting a distro..
