In a country of over 300 Million people, there will always be kooks and immature idiots. The Country has been ready for a Black President for a long time. Colin Powell would have won, had he run. Voting FOR someone because of their race is as racist as voting against them on that basis. We should vote based on suitability, experience, and character. All of those require being tested. As for the protecting of the leaders from the people, well, the Caesars needed the Praetorians for a reason.
