One would think that if you wanted to eavesdrop on an intelligent space-faring civilization you would have to listen for something other than radio waves, as light speed communications would be almost useless.
Yes, but of course what we are looking for is the primer on advanced (and FTL) telecommunications that the Advanced Lifeform Intake and Education Nurturing Society is broadcasting via radiowaves for pickup by primitive civilizations.
