Dammit, an Englishman who will argue without talking down to his opponent and actually attempts at persuasion rather than antagonism... didn't know of such a thing! Want to give Solly and Nick manner lessons?! Back to the debate: On 9/12/07, eliza <ghooti () googlemail com> wrote:
I personally believe that you should look at the twin towers and not forget how important foreign policy is.
Meaning you believe we brought it on ourselves? Muslims (as best I can tell) believe they should rule the world and that we're all evil. I don't see our foreign policy having any effect on that way of thinking and this country is to young to have helped shape it. Osama's excuses are just that. People pretend that this is somehow our first brush with a Muslim war, as a country. This isn't true anymore that 9/11 was the first Muslim terrorist attack.
Or maybe not forget that you have been sponsoring the terrorism of the uk for over 18 years.
Here I will guess you're talking about US citizens sending money to the IRA. That is a fact. It is also a fact that there are US citizens sending money to each and every Muslim terrorist group operating in the world today, essentially sponsoring terrorism of the US.
Or possible not forget the corrupt politicians that have forced you into a war in a country that was *nothing* to do with the 11/9 attacks.
I don't mind that, as I've said before. I'm a war monger, I guess, and I'm glad Saddam is gone. I'm hopeful Iran will be "liberated" soon as well (though I'd prefer we just bomb the crap out of the leadership and let the people do the rest - if they will).
Or even do not forget the liberties that you used to have...? before the same corrupt politicians took them away in the name of terror.
I can't think of any liberties that I've lost.
the current gun/knife laws that we have here in the uk. I know it is a subject you are passionate about Brian so you should be able to see the cross over.
No argument there, so far as internal security goes. But I don't think we would agree on the cause.
(oh yeah, Brian, a new muslim country, how about kosovo? or Bosnia-Herzegovina? even though valdis was probably talking about the collapse of Iraq and its subsiquent rebuilding as being a new country.)
They're new Muslim countries - how? And how did the US create them? Ironic that Valdis doesn't mention how Iraq came to be a country in the first place...
btw - Im white, english (currently living in brighton, uk), 30 and agnostic. (for what it is worth)
Well, we shall never date, but I'd probably buy you a pint - so long as this is an example of your natural demeanor in person as well. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
