To protect privacy, DHS and Washington State have said the RFID tag will transmit wirelessly only a reference number, which must be matched to a database to obtain personal information.
So privacy will be protected but no security will be provided.... What was the intent in the first place - it couldn't have been to protect privacy since privacy concerns arose only after the solution to the original intent was proposed. And it couldn't have been security since one could simply clone the reference number of someone else's RFID tag. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
