The motivation behind this RFID card swipe system is to prevent kids from being lost on the school bus system. However, the school bus transportation system in the U.S. doesn't actually loose kids, although kids sometimes get misplaced temporarily (ie, a kid is busy talking and he or she misses their stop.) So when a frantic parent calls the school system looking for their lost kid, the school system will be able to look into their tracking database and tell the parent somewhere to look for the kid. An enterprising reporter might want to a take a closer look at the relationship between the vendor of this tracking system and the school board. The Enron connection has already added some spice to the story. Richard -----Original Message----- From: Brian Loe [mailto:knobdy () gmail com] Sent: Tuesday, October 10, 2006 1:03 PM To: Richard M. Sounds okay to me. Not sure that it will have any effect on the violence in schools - but for that I would personally take the tact the Israelis did a long time ago... _______________________________________________ privacy mailing list privacy () whitestar linuxbox org http://www.whitestar.linuxbox.org/mailman/listinfo/privacy
