No surprise here. I wonder however if the cops and prosecutor of Washington County ever admit that they were wrong. Washington County Prosecutor James Schneider said that there was not enough evidence to prosecute Osama Abulhassan and Ali Houssaiky. But Schneider said his office will continue to prosecute them on a misdemeanor charge of lying to police. The men will most likely be released Tuesday after a court hearing, and will face a court date probably next month, Schneider said. The misdemeanor charge has nothing to do with terrorism, he said. But the investigation into the men, and possible ties to suspicious activity, will continue, he said. Police in Ohio are working with local, state, and federal law enforcement officials in Ohio and Michigan on the case. There has been concern that the men may have planned to target airplanes, he said. But family members said that the men were targeted because of their background both are the children of Muslim immigrants from Lebanon. In a statement, the Washington County Prosecutors office said: The State is currently in possession of sufficient evidence in support of probable cause on the felony charges, however, more information is needed to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt, read part of it. The Washington County Sheriffs office continues to be in contact with federal and other state law enforcement authorities, and information is being shared in furtherance of this investigation. _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
