-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Playing around with FireFox2beta2, I noticed that the Google search bar at the top automatically completes the query with suggestions. After a little investigation, I found the site that generates the list: http://suggestqueries.google.com/complete/search?output=firefox&client=firefox&qu=xx I'm not entirely sure where the results come from, though -- they are fairly specific, so it doesn't seem like it's automated, but they're also typically spelled correctly so it doesn't sound like random people's results. Finally, it filled in a fairly obscure result for me, "handelgotd font download", so it doesn't seem to be common results. I'm trying to figure out whether or not this is a privacy concern with Google, but I'm unable to find any more information. Anybody have any any idea about how this works? I guess my other question is, has this already been discussed somewhere? Was I in the washroom when the memo went around, or is this actually a new thing? Interested to hear opinions, Ron -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFE/IGzfqSf2EkP4p4RApMbAJ9qksN28ky5CMYCpYHL4/UlNwCXnACggpLw g2CTAEySUQlo2vr1/x6fYZY= =L7V0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ privacy mailing list privacy () whitestar linuxbox org http://www.whitestar.linuxbox.org/mailman/listinfo/privacy
