Qwest, BellSouth, and Verizon say that they never provided any such records
to the NSA.

This is such a sick little wag the dog game. Media elites post an article,
that telecoms claim is false, and the government claims is false, and now
the lawyers smell just enough blood in the water to scream "class action".

Calls of 'Ordinary'Americans

I guess it all depends on the meaning of the word "ordinary".

Via CNN (AP).

[snip]

President Bush insisted Tuesday that the United States does
not listen in on domestic telephone conversations among
ordinary Americans.

The president did not respond directly, however, when asked
whether it was a violation of privacy for the National
Security Agency to seek phone records of millions of people
from telephone companies.
