To final destination? WITHOUT an RFID infrastructure in place in the OTHER airports? Any way you slice it though it's the same as the airlines barcode your luggage anyhow. Simply another waste of the taxpayers money. Hey! We have a little extra budget money left over, what'ya say we re-invent the round thing on an axle? Again.

Boston Engineering will utilize Vienna, Va.-based Inkode's CRIS (Chipless Remote Identification System) technology as the basis for the pilot program. Dubbed SEATS, or Secure Environment for Airport Terminal Systems, the project is actually a collaboration between the two companies that combines Inkode's passive, disposable wireless tracking device with a baggage tracking system developed by Boston Engineering.
