Can a Gaim user assist Alan with getting on the jabber server?

Should Just Work if you have a recent Gaim (1.5 - though I'm on a CVS
version).

Yes ...

OK, I tried 0.6, then 0.71. 1.3 worked, and 1.5. I'm on now, thanks for
your help.

Go to tools->accounts, hit 'add'. You want 'server jabber.tisf.net'.
Then click the 'advanced' tab and select 'use' and 'require' TLS.
Connect port = 5222. Then hit 'register', that should get you another
box. Fill that one in, and you should be good to go.

Tools->Room list, select the right account, hit 'get list'. You should
get a dialog box for 'conference.jabber.tisf.net', hit "find rooms". It
should list 'funsec' - select it by clicking on it, then hit 'join'.

Yell if that doesn't work. :)
