After reporting the incident Sunday: http://groups.google.com/group/n3td3v/browse_thread/thread/ca70e0d1dd95e67a/d7073c169ad415e3 Yahoo have said Monday, their e-mail and messenger systems were down for hours during Sunday, due to a "power failure": http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/5209496.stm This comes just over a month after Yahoo suffered a similar outage on their e-mail and messenger service, where Yahoo said the problem was due to "software related issues": http://news.com.com/Yahoo+outages+frustrate+some+users/2100-1032_3-6086485.html 2006 appears to be the year of the outage for Yahoo. Consumers have been shuttered from their e-mail and messenger service twice in less than two months for upto 10 hours a time. I guess they ran out of diesel for their backup power supply that day (smurk) at their server facilities. As for the "software related issues" back in June, that is as lame an incident as the power failure excuse. Keep up the good (networking) work Yahoo, you make us proud and are leading the way as a serious (chuckle) global competitor against Google. _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it.
