It seems to be caused by adelphia's DNS servers. On Fri, 18 Mar 2005 14:48:34 -0500, Adam Polkosnik <apolkosnik () gmail com> wrote:
Hello list, Just recently I've stepped across a little weirdness. It seems that all of the sudden XP machines fail to resolve names containg an ascii character 0x2d or in other words "-". I.E name resolution for domains along the lines of one-example.com doesn't work. Last time I checked RFC921, 1033 hyphen was legal... Did anyone else got hit by this issue? Not that I use XP... The only way I was able to compensate for that was adding a static entry in system32\drivers\etc\hosts.
