In-Reply-To: <20050105201722.96148.qmail () web50704 mail yahoo com> I know of some security products that when put into inline or "transparent" mode allows an internally accessible IP address to be configured for management capability. This is likely what they are referring to and is becoming more standard with the numerous inline appliances on the market. An issue with this is that there is more risk of internal access to the management interface on these kind of products that don't have seperate management interfaces for isolation from the production network.
