If you have control over the whole box, choose the new open source hypervisor Xen. It will do all this and very efficiently (Xen is extremely cool). http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/Research/SRG/netos/xen/
And it has a BSD port which was something the original poster seemed to prefer.
