Hello Dave,

May be it stopped because of reaching the maximum allowed
sessions it can handle. You can find out on the general tab
of the GUI.

Also check out http://www.soniclogger.com for a tool that
enables you to monitor better the syslog information.

Hope this info helps.

Best Regards,

Onderwerp: [fw-wiz] Sonicwall hangs - familiar?

Folks,

Anyone familiar with a sonicwall 200 running PPoE?

Periodically (once a month), a sonic wall I'm managing stops
forwarding/processing
traffic. Most recent occurrence was last evening.

Among the last packets logged and dropped were:

id=firewall sn=00401013D589 time="2003-04-18 21:54:15"
fw=64.53.71.145
pri=7 c=512 m=63 msg="Received fragmented packet or
fragmentation needed"
n=795673 src=208.180.23.87 dst=64.53.71.145

id=firewall sn=00401013D589 time="2003-04-18 21:54:39"
fw=64.53.71.145
pri=5 c=256 m=38 msg="ICMP packet dropped" n=838 src=128.114.0.185
dst=64.53.71.145 rule=0

I didn't find anything at sonicwall's site about issues
handling fragmented
packets, and the log shows some traffic was processed after
these msgs were
received.
(You can't exercise all that much control over what you log with this
appliance).

Any insight would be appreciated.
