If you were spending your own dough, which one would you attend?
Remember, only one....

Ive been to a few of them, both on my own dime and on the companies and If i had to go to only one Id probably chose SANS. The primary reason being that i felt that they had more of a conference atmosphere where you actually learn something vs. a trade show where you talk to vendors and get cool knicknacks. If you are going to learn, they are probably the best in terms of content and organization that ive seen though some may differ with me. Plus there is the added benefit that you can get a cert if you dont mind doing the test and practical afterwards. But it really depends on what you are looking for. Some of the other conferences offer more depth (USENIX, etc) if you are already a guru and just want to talk shop. Or if you are looking for a junket to spend some training money and have some fun, blackhat (the one in vegas so you can take in defcon) or Interop (which in my opinion, has gotten way too comdex-like) offer good eye candy and locale. Take your pick, there is something out there for everyone.

PS for those of you out there considering going to a InfoSecurity event, dont bother. I took in the one in new york cause i was there anyways and it way poorly attended and the sessions were basically vendor commercials.
