OK then, what's fair damages for writing Internet Scanner, an evil haxor tool? How about releasing the "firewall" toolkit full of holes? $100M each?
In all fairness, the FWTK had its share of bugs [being uncommented did not help!], but not many holes, if any. It was the best of its kind at the time. And people were warned that it was specifically NOT a firewall - only a set of tools that could be used by KNOWLEDGEABLE professionals to build a firewall. And it was never sold for any use whatsoever. Some current users seem to have lost sight of that ... and many seem to be using other tools to open holes in the firewall. -- Joe Yao jsdy () cospo osis gov - Joseph S. D.
