looping address

I found an smtp server in a loop attempting to deliver to user () localhost net,
which interestingly resolved to 127.0.0.1.  I think I can prevent this in my
environment, but I thought it was an interesting hack that I'd bet could cause
some concern.  Has anyone encountered this, and is it NT specific?:-jmw
