hi all,
it would be a sad day when the source is not available for those
interested.
it would tend to lead to the same proprietary situation which it appeared
only yesturday
we wre ridding ourselves off:() i am not sure about anyone else here but as i
am interested for instance in the internals i would sorely miss it..
perhaps it could be compared to getting a stereo without the circuitry as
was the case a long time ago. but it does lead to better code as people
i think try harder when there code is being scrutinized. perhaps a better
approach would be like the linux kernel scenario release the code in all
its glory and allow others to build whatever apps compiled or straight src
that they wished making a choice according to their needs. then the public
decides as is always the case.
                                                        Regards,
                                                        dreamwvr () dreamwvr com

It strikes me that source code availability is like free speech: you may
not use it but you sure notice when it's gone.

Reuters, London, February 29, 1998:
Scientists have announced discovering a meteorite which will strike the
earth in March, 2028. Millions of UNIX coders expressed relief for being
spared the UNIX epoch "crisis" of 2038.
