Does anyone have any experience using the Shadow intrusion detection
software, available from the Navy Surface Warfare Center (
http://www.nswc.navy.mil/ISSEC/CID/step.tar.gz)?  If installed as
advertised, does the use of ssh provide sufficient protection against the
possibility that the IDS could itself open a security hole?
