Web Application SSO Requirements

Does anyone require web applications to use your organizations SSO?  If so, how are applications handled that cannot 
meet this requirement?  Is it only required for applications meeting certain criteria?

We are working improving our SSO coverage and were not sure how granular we should plan to be as there are obviously a 
large number of applications that won't support it (or will add additional cost).

Any information that can be shared would be helpful.
