We use unitrends and when I heard the first thing I thought of was, did this impact unitrends. I think Kaseya has largely left unitrends technology alone since buying unitrends, but I don't know that for sure. But that would be a real punch in the gut if someone was able to knock out your backup system and then deploy the ransomware. I'm very interested to see what comes out of this. We did not. We looked at Kaseya last year as a possible patch solution and were not sold. We are however taking this opportunity to evaluate any patching solutions we have in place, especially anything with an agent, and dotting the i’s. We have a meeting with Qualys that has that capability for windows systems and going over the feature with them. Likely we will end up not using it in light of Kaseya VSA. Interesting, Unitrends backup software is owned by Kaseya and I’m certain folks are thinking about that as well. *Thank you* *Hank Foss * *Manager of Security Infrastructure CISSP, GPEN, CCNA* Sacred Heart University Main Campus HC112 Office: (203) 396-8279 Mobile: (203) 295-1356 *From:* The EDUCAUSE Security Community Group Listserv < SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU> *On Behalf Of *randy *Sent:* Wednesday, July 7, 2021 1:23 PM *To:* SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU *Subject:* [SECURITY] kaseya attack Anyone get hit with the kaseya attack?
