The management of lab workstations

Hi,

Expectations for the management of lab workstations can be very high. Some
are technical, some are administrative. Workstation calendaring, access
management, time management, workload scaling or even a small HPC-like.

We wonder how and with what software you manage them? Can you share your
best practices?
