According to the 2019 Core Data Service (CDS) survey, institutions are using MFA for a variety of reasons including:

* Business-critical applications (e.g., financial or HR systems) (57%)
• IT administrative access (55%)
• Remote access to IT services (46%)
• Email (38%)
