Hello Everyone, Quick summary - Merit Network (a division of the University of Michigan - merit.edu/mmc), is a non-profit governed by Michigan's public universities and owns and operates the longest-running regional education network in the U.S. We are holding our Member Conference in early May and are seeking speakers/presenters for the event! Description below. Thank you very much for your time. Merit Network is looking for speakers for our upcoming Merit Member Conference and I would like you and/or your team members within your institution to consider submitting a presentation! MMC2019 will be held on May 8-9 in Dearborn, MI. Sold our yearly, it features 550+ attendees from the nonprofit community in Michigan (higher ed, k-12, government, nonprofit, healthcare), as well as IT and Security professionals from the for-profit and non-profit industries. This would be a great opportunity to share your knowledge with your peers and provide positive exposure for your organization. Theme - Voyage to the Future While our paths may be divergent, all organizations navigate the same obstacles with the destination of robust networks, secure information and connected communities. In these uncharted times, Merit Member Conference 2019 provides discourse on the tools, expertise and resources we need to eclipse these challenges together, while providing the best ROI for your objectives. The MMC 2019 Voyage to the Future aims to alleviate the headaches of: Network planning The increasing threat environment Lagging policies and regulation Data application and storage security Nontraditional workforce preferences Information accessibility and addressing the digital divide Any topic focusing on handling the changing landscapes we are facing in networking, security, staff and hardware management would be appropriate. We've also found people enjoy a shorter, more focused presentation so it will only need to be 40 - 45 minutes. Other topics relevant to our theme can include: general networking, security and end user training software and software as a service cloud computing Security Frameworks training and workforce development multifactor/two factor authentication wireless emerging technology streamlining work habits.
