Hi all!



We at Pikes Peak Community College are a NCSAM Champion as well! This year our main focus is to host campus 'Lunch and 
Learns' - our first one kicks off tomorrow with our cyber club and IT folks! Here is our current calendar of activities:


Week 1 (October 2-6): STOP. THINK. CONNECT.™: Simple Steps to Online Safety

•        Tuesday, October 3 (11am – 12 pm MDT): Lunch and Learn - Rampart Range Campus W101 - Cyber Club will present 
on basic Cybersecurity practices and ITSS will brief what they do to ensure our PPCC networks are secure

•        Friday, October 6 (5:30 – 7pm MDT): Cyber Club Meeting at Rampart Range Campus; E208

Week 2 (October 9-13): Cybersecurity in the Workplace Is Everyone’s Business
•       Tuesday, October 10 (11am – 12 pm MDT): Lunch and Learn - Centennial Campus A140 - Rick Bustillos from Colorado 
Springs Utilities Tim Hoffman from ISSA will speak about the value of cybersecurity professional associations

Week 3 (October 16-20): Today’s Predictions for Tomorrow’s Internet
•      Tuesday, October 17 (11am – 12pm MDT): Lunch and Learn - Rampart Range Campus W101 - Rich Kyuskye with Sudolynx 
will share his expertise on the Risk Management Framework and converting legacy systems to current standards

•        Wednesday, October 18 (2pm – 6:30 pm MDT: Cyber Synergy at Colorado Technical University – PPCC will be 
represented on a cybersecurity industry panel to discuss education, cyber trust and community topics

•        Thursday, October 19 (9:30 – 11am MDT): Cyber Club and Computer Information Systems Students will be assisting 
senior citizens at the Senior Citizen Center with setting up and basic securing of tech devices

•        Friday, October 20 – (5:15 – 9pm MDT): Cyber Capture the Flag, co-hosted with Secure Set – Rampart Range 
Campus W101 - Join Secure Set and us to test your cyber skills! Beginners welcome!

Week 4 (October 23-27): The Internet Wants You: Consider a Career in Cybersecurity
•       Tuesday, October 24 (11am – 12pm MDT): Lunch and Learn – Centennial Campus C200 -  A panel with 5 
representatives from local cybersecurity companies, contractors and organizations will discuss their experience and 
potential employment opportunities and challenges

•        Thursday, October 27 (time TBD): Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and Industry Partners will be working with our 
Concurrent Enrollment department to meet with school districts in Colorado Springs to promote the Cybersecurity 
Certificate offered within High School Programs

Week 5 (October 30-31): Protecting Critical Infrastructure from Cyber Threats
•       Tuesday, October 31 (11am – 12pm MDT): Lunch and Learn – Rampart Range Campus W101 – Dr. Shawn Murray, of 
Murray Security Services, will discuss his recent presentation to members of Congress, including the Director of the US 
Defense Security Service, and his keynote speech at the National Security Institute Conference.
