[cid:image005.jpg@01D2FF11.D1AA1FC0] [NEW_College-of-Law-Logo_500px] 2017 National Seminar and Tabletop Exercise for Institutions of Higher Education The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and The University of Utah invite you to participate in the 2017 National Seminar and Tabletop Exercise for Institutions of Higher Education on October 10-11, at the S.J. Quinney College of Law. This two-day event will include workshop sessions, a tabletop exercise and an after-action review session on preparing participants to respond to a campus emergency. This year's event will focus on a failure in campus infrastructure caused by cyber-attack. More detailed information on the specific topics for workshops and the tabletop exercise will be available closer to the event. The event seeks to provide participants with insight into planning, preparedness and resilience best practices for the academic community. Because emergency planning involves a team of individuals from across an institution, we recommend a team of up to five (5) senior leaders representing various functions (i.e. information technology, security, leadership, public safety, student life, communications, etc.) attend from each institution. Participants also will include representatives from federal departments and agencies that support campus resilience. To register, please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2017NTTX. For more information on the National Seminar and Tabletop Exercise for Institutions of Higher Education Series, please visit https://www.dhs.gov/nttx. There is no cost to attend or present at this event. Participants and presenters are responsible for their own travel, lodging and per diem expenses. Space is limited and attendees will be confirmed by DHS on a first-come, first-served basis, with consideration given to institutions demonstrating a strong commitment to sending diverse teams of 3-5 senior leaders.
