Good afternoon,

Data Privacy Day (January 28) is less than 3 weeks away! Here are a few ways to show your college or university’s
support and help us make DPD 2017 the most successful yet.

  1. Become a Data Privacy Day Champion<https://staysafeonline.org/data-privacy-day/champions>. (It’s free and easy to
sign up online! Join your peers and be recognized on NCSA’s
website<https://staysafeonline.org/data-privacy-day/champions/all-champions>.)
  2. Use the hashtag #PrivacyAware<https://twitter.com/search?q=%23PrivacyAware> on Twitter and Facebook. And join
NCSA for 2 #ChatSTC Twitter chats about privacy on 1/18 & 1/25.
  3. Download the logo, sample social media posts, memes, infographics, web banners, poster, and more from NCSA’s
Promote DPD page<https://staysafeonline.org/data-privacy-day/get-involved/promote-dpd>.
  4. Starting on January 17, visit the Security Matters<http://er.educause.edu/columns/security-matters> column every
week through the end of February for new guest blogs on privacy-related topics.
  5. Register now for our free EDUCAUSE Live! webinar on January 26, 2017 (1-2 pm EST) with Cindy Compert (IBM)
discussing big data and data privacy:

We encourage institutions to use this time in January and February to educate students, faculty, and staff about
privacy issues. You can find additional resources to help plan your campus activities and events at:

Thank you,
Valerie
