Columbia University Medical Center has an open Security Specialist position with our Information Security Office. Is analyzing and evaluating your thing? As a member of a team of infosec geeks you will work on integrating Security Operation tasks with cool enterprise tools, work on forensic and security operations investigations, and consult as a security subject matter expert for risk assessments. You’ll see front-line security work – real incidents, assessments and penetration tests – and it will be your job to build and run the tech to make that work better and you’ll do it at Columbia, one of the top Medical Centers in the country. This is a great job for someone who is looking to start their career and has a little background in Information Security, or someone with solid IT experience - systems engineering or development experience would be best - who wants to make the jump into infosec. In general, we favor smart, dedicated geeks with critical thinking skills over experience. We work hard and often under pressure. We have fun doing it (while remaining professional). If this all sounds as good to you as it does to us, then put in your application in and let's talk! The position is located at the joint Columbia, Weil-Cornell and New York Presbyterian Hospital campus in New York, New York The job is currently advertised on the Columbia University 'jobs' website with position details available. jobs.columbia.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=158181<http://jobs.columbia.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=158181> Job Title Information Security Systems Specialist Job Code Title Job Requisition Number 084953 Department 7008- CMC CUMC COO Location Medical Center Job Type Officer Full-Time Regular Bargaining Unit If temporary, indicate duration Hours Per Week 35 Job Family Technical / Information Technology Salary Grade Officer 104 Salary Range Commensurate with experience Candidates are encouraged to apply and/or refer qualified colleagues for the position.
