An Information Security Officer (ISO) for the University of Alaska
Fairbanks deals with operational security service development and
deployment in addition to investigative workloads associated with network,
system, application security and forensic activities. They serves as
technical advisors to management and would be capable of working with both
IT and non-IT peers. A bachelor's degree in a technical field and/or
relevant information security industry certification and experience is
required. This position creates and carries out tactical plans and
initiatives of value to the university community. Curiosity, a proactive
approach, positive attitude and process orientation are characteristics
valued in an ISO.
