I don't quite remember what the licensing restrictions are for k9, but it is
the free desktop version of BlueCoat. Free for home use, might be free for
edu.

I am open to either network or client-side solutions. This only affect 6
machines so I am looking for free or low cost, with quick implementation.

Daniel,

Are you looking for network side or client side solutions?

On the network side, In a former life as a K12 admin, I used both the free
and paid versions of Untangle(untangle.com <http://untangle.com> ). Worked
well for my needs. OpenDNS is an option, too, although I am not sure how
they handle that now that they have home and business solutions.

Let me know if you have any questions.
