This is a serendipitous thread! The Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) Technologies, Operations, and Practices (TOP) working group has developed a new resource, Introduction to Full Disk Encryption (FDE):
_https://wiki.internet2.edu/confluence/display/itsg2/Full+Disk+Encryption_This document is designed to help guide you in the evaluation, selection and implementation of a full-disk encryption solution.
This is a living document and we welcome your input. Please send any questions, comments, or suggested resources to ostermmg () whitman edu.
Thank you, Mike Osterman HEISC Technologies, Operations, & Practices working group member
