Hi Christopher,

EDUCAUSE does have a collection of Data Retention policies (which includes email). But unfortunately there are not any
examples from Canada.

We also have an "Electronic Records Management Toolkit" that members of our Higher Education Information Security
Council<mailto:security-council () educause edu?subject=E-Discovery%20Guideline%20and%20Toolkit> created that may be of
help to you.

Please let me know if you have any questions, thank you.

Subject: [SECURITY] Email Retention Policy

We are in the process of developing a formal email retention policy. I would be interested in hearing from anyone
willing to share their experiences and challenges in creating such a policy. In particular, it would be great to hear
from other Canadian universities about creating such a policy in view of FIPPA/FOIPOP/PIPEDA regulations. Thanks.
