Tcpwrappers requires an application be compiled to support it. iptables acts at the kernel level and is application
independent. Nothing wrong in using both though.

Subject:[SECURITY] IPtables versus Tcp_wrapper

IPtables are new to me and I just wanted a knowledgeable opinion whether it is thought of as good an access control
device (Tcp_wrapper) or that one far outweighs the other. Does anyone have a quick opinion on the topic?
