How are you enforcing the timeouts (pointsec, windows settings, screensaver, etc)? How long must the PC be inactive for the timeout setting to take effect? Do the time limits vary based on user?
I'm using a group policy to force locking but not setting the time or the screen saver. The UA policy <http://security.arizona.edu/files/ISS701.pdf> allows different time based different categories (e.g., a workstation in private office vs open computer lab). -Eric Eric Case, CISSP <ecase () Arizona edu> Information Security Officer College of Engineering <http://www.Engr.Arizona.edu> 1127 E James E.
