The reasoning behind the policy is simple. With limited resources, (both financially and manpower) we had to restrict what services we could provide to non-college owned equipment. If a user wants to forward their mail to some outside service that then forwards it on to their Blackberry, or to their home email accounts, there is nothing we can do to stop them. However, we won't support them either if it breaks either. ******************************************** Mike Maloney Sr. System Engineer Middlesex County College 2600 Woodbridge Avenue Edison, NJ 08818 Phone: 732-906-7754 Cell: 908-217-2086 Fax: 732-906-4266 Email: mmaloney () middlesexcc edu ******************************************** -----Original Message----- From: The EDUCAUSE Security Constituent Group Listserv [mailto:SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU] On Behalf Of Cal Frye Sent: Monday, April 27, 2009 3:22 PM To: SECURITY () LISTSERV EDUCAUSE EDU Subject: {SPAM?} Re: [SECURITY] Smartphone Policies. And what is to stop one from forwarding from one's college email account to the personal one one uses on their personal Blackberry?
