Hi all, We have recently reported on the possible use of encryption software for removable devices at the Queensland University of Technology. Our finding was to monitor the implementation of BitLocker in the future Vista SOE. BitLocker will not by default (in our implementation) encrypt any USB devices attached to these computers. We are wondering what solution other Universities are using for USB encryption, that may be a suitable short-term solution for us to use for USB encryption? We are aware of the various free products (e.g Axcrypt, Truecrypt) and as part of our investigation, did a brief review of products listed in a 2007 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Mobile Data Protection report on mobile data encryption. If your University does use a product, please let me know!
