Chandragupta-

Within our OIT Systems and Networking units we use GnuPG and/or PGP in
conjunction with Thunderbird's Enigmail plug-in to handle email signing
and encryption.

I must say the T-bird Enigmail plug-in is quite nice. Recent versions
include a basic key management tool that makes the end-users life much
easier. We hope to begin piloting this solution to other areas on
campus this semester. This is made a bit simpler in our case since
Thunderbird is the default supported email client on campus.
