**Cross-post from ResNet-L** The results are in. Overall, there were 33 respondents including our institution. Of those : 16 use a Barracuda Appliance (48%) 04 use Sophos PureMessage (12%) 03 use CipherTrust IronMail (09%) [sometimes in conjunction with another AV package] 03 use Mailfrontier/Sonicwall (09%) [sometimes in conjunction with another AV package] 02 use IronPort (06%) 01 uses eSoft Threatwall (03%) 01 uses Fortinet (03%) [in conjunction with TrendMicro] 01 uses Roaring Penguin's CanIt (03%) 01 uses a homegrown MailScanner/SpamAsssassin/ClamAV/FuzzyOCR setup (03%) 01 uses TrendMicro exclusively (03%) The majority of people are pleased with their product choice. Most expressed minor complaints about end user UIs/functionality, inability to catch 100% of image spam, support costs, and false negatives/positives. There were only 2 people who had some serious issues with their setups, one was a Barracuda user the other a Sophos PureMessage user.
