Door access system questions

Colleagues,

Apologies if this is pushing the boundaries of this list.. we are
getting a runaround (or rather I think we are) from some contractors and
I'd like to compare notes.  If you have any words of wisdom, please
email me off the list.

- Do you have a card access system that is used to control classroom
doors?  If so, are these doors ever programmed to be "unlocked" for
extended periods of time, say, 2+ hours, rather than remaining locked &
only opening for a brief time when a card is presented?

- Do you have any experience with HES 1006 electric strikes?
