Internet2 will hold a Security Briefing on 23 September, 1:00-2:00 pm EDT, in the form of a conference call. During this briefing, a panel will discuss the recent draft proposal, "Strategies for Automating Network Policy Enforcement", and solicit feedback. Eric Gauthier, of Boston University, will serve as the moderator. Limited space is available for the SALSA Security Briefing so please register soon at the following location: http://security.internet2.edu/briefings/. [A separate email with dial-in information will be provided once you've registered.] The document can be found at: http://security.internet2.edu/netauth/docs/draft-internet2-salsa-netauth -summary-02.html. Please feel free to forward this information to appropriate individuals at your institution who have developed or implemented (or are looking to implement) creative technology solutions for automating technical policy enforcement as a condition for network access in colleges and universities. EDUCAUSE is also looking for successful campus implementations that can serve as the basis for a submission (http://www.educause.edu/ep/form/get_email.asp?Mode=SEC) to the Effective Security Practices Guide (http://www.educause.edu/security/guide/). We are especially interested in learning about any success stories from the start of the new school year that we can highlight in a follow-up presentation that is being planned for later this fall. Thanks, Valerie Vogel Security Task Force Project Assistant, EDUCAUSE & Internet2 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Discussion Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
