We didn't do a formal evaluation but rather decided to extend our licensing
with Symantec. We "upgraded" our AV to now include the full Symantec
Client Security suite.

We are currently working through issues of distribution, configuration and
support. We have initially made the full suite available to our department
network administrators so that they can set up both stand-alone and
centrally managed instances. We plan to role this out to students sometime
this fall but need to ensure we have this configured appropriate so as not
to break other applications, put there systems in an unusable state and set
up appropriated as unmanaged.

Does anyone recommend a personal firewall on campus? If not, are you
considering doing so? If you do make a recommendation, did you do an
eval? We're considering an evaluation of personal firewalls, for remote
users as well as users on campus, and know that it presents risks and
challenges. I'm interested in what others may have learned about this.
