Wanted: specialized secure browser for on-line exams

A recent security audit of our on-line testing and assessment computer lab uncovered a number of security holes. These will be fairly easy to correct. It was also suggested that the lab use a specialized Web browser; one that "takes over" the desk top and has reduced functionality that prevents opening separate windows, minimizing, printing, etc... I've located one such specialized browser called Perception at "http://www.questionmark.com/us/perception/psb.htm". I'll ask the center to evaluated it. Does anyone know of other such specialized Web browsers? How do other institutions conduct Web based exams and testing in a secure (cheat resistant) manner? -- Clyde Hoadley, CISSP Security & Disaster Recovery Coordinator Division of Information Technology Metropolitan State College of Denver hoadleyc () mscd edu http://clem.mscd.edu/~hoadleyc/ (303) 556-5074 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Discussion Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/cg/.
