Personal Computer use on Campus

The question is allowing Faculty and Staff to connect personal computers from home on the Enterprise network.  I'm 
trying to get an idea of what others are doing to release there institutions from liability (policies/procedures, etc)  
Any information would be welcome.  Thanks
