The owner of Benny's Pizza said a forensics company determined that the restaurant's computer system was compromised remotely with malicious software. They believe that's how customers' credit card information was accessed. Last month, dozens of customers reported having their credit card information used within the country and overseas without their permission. The forensics report found no employees or customers of Benny's were involved in the thefts. The restaurant had already taken steps to secure their system after the initial reports, according to the owner. She said their system is safe now and will continue to look at making their computers more secure. Police are continuing their investigation in the case. _______________________________________________ Dataloss Mailing List (dataloss () datalossdb org) Archived at http://seclists.org/dataloss/ Unsubscribe at http://datalossdb.org/mailing_list Supporters: Risk Based Security (http://www.riskbasedsecurity.com/) Risk Based Security equips organizations with security intelligence, risk management services and on-demand security solutions to establish customized risk-based programs to address information security and compliance challenges.
