Thieves steal credit card information from local restaurant

The owner of Smashing tomato, an Italian restaurant in Lexington, says
they were recently informed by the Secret Service about stolen credit
card information. Toyoda was not able to tell us how many customers
were affected by the stolen credit card numbers, and calls to the
secret service were not returned.

What happened she says, was someone hacked into the communication
system between the cash register and the credit card processing
company. The hacker then stole credit card numbers and is using them
to fraudulently make purchases across the United States.
