Misty Deitz does everything she can to protect her three elementary-aged 
daughters. But she now feels helpless knowing that she cant do anything 
about a security breach of private information involving special needs 
students in the Leander School District.

I dont know whats on the files, what was retrieved, what was seen, she 
said.

Last week, school officials sent a notice home with special needs students 
to alert parents that someone gained access to private information.

It appears that one individual gained unauthorized electronic access to 
confidential information, is what parents read in the memo from school 
superintendent Bret Champion.
