The hospital revealed the apparent theft in a press release and news conference Friday. According to Chief Operating Officer Jamie Smith, the missing information consists of names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers and the reason for the patients' visits. Smith says no detailed medical records were taken. The information was stored on a computer print-out and kept in a binder stored in a cabinet in the Ultrasound Department. The patients received ultrasound procedures in August and early September at Penrose Main. The apparent theft does not include any patients at affiliated St. Francis.
